It would appear like Wilfred Zaha is trying to use the summer transfer window to try to have himself traded to West Ham.
While playing for Crystal Palace, Zaha became widely believed to be one of the top wingers in the Premier League, leading many to speculate that he was about to join a major club.
But many were startled when the winger decided to play in Turkey for Galatasaray, a club that offered him a huge salary to ensure he would not remain in the Premier League.
He has scored 10 goals in 36 games for Galatasaray this season and has looked good at times, but if the rumors are to be believed, he is not completely content with the Turkish giants.
A recent KUMB story states that representatives from Zaha’s camp spoke with West Ham executives in London. The fact that these reps allegedly didn’t talk to any other teams while they were there raises eyebrows and could indicate that the Hammers are serious about making an offer.
Now, Turkish news outlet Takvim claims that West Ham is prepared to go to war with Aston Villa to sign attacker Ahmed Zaha.
Zaha reportedly plans to speak with club officials today in an effort to get them to approve a summer transfer for him.
But Zaha’s contract could be a problem. West Ham would have to shell out a pretty penny to snag the winger from Galatasaray, who have a contract with him until the 2026–27 season.
There were a lot of clubs interested in Zaha, and he might have had his choice if he hadn’t allowed money influence his decision to leave the Premier League.
Although he will offer quality to WEST HAM’s wings if signed, the player is not the same as he was a few seasons ago and may fail to produce the kind of impact the Hammers would like.
