Sesko’s Agent Responds to Arsenal Transfer Speculation with a Clear Statement
Benjamin Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has addressed ongoing rumors about a potential January transfer from RB Leipzig to Arsenal. Reports had previously suggested that Sesko was Mikel Arteta’s top target for the striker position, ahead of Viktor Gyokeres, with whispers of a possible loan move to the Emirates.
Speaking to Fabrizio Romano via GMS, Basanovic denied any such developments, stating:
“I don’t know where this story has come from, but I have never talked with Arsenal about a loan move for Sesko. Sesko is not a player for loans, and this was never a topic with Arsenal or any other club. If you ask me if Sesko will move in January, I can only say Sesko is an RB Leipzig player and fully focused on that.”

Reports also link Chelsea to the 21-year-old Slovenian forward, who has netted 13 goals this season. While Basanovic refrained from commenting on such speculation, he suggested that inquiries should be directed to RB Leipzig.
Romano previously noted that a “crazy” offer would be needed to convince Leipzig to sell Sesko in January. The striker’s current price tag is reportedly €60-65 million, but without a release clause active until summer, a winter transfer remains unlikely.
Romano further elaborated on his YouTube channel:
“Arsenal will keep monitoring the player, and Chelsea are also closely watching Sesko, but they’re doing the same with Liam Delap and other players. Arsenal tried to sign him in the summer, but it wasn’t possible, and the player extended his contract.”
For now, Sesko is focused on his season with RB Leipzig, though both Arsenal and Chelsea remain interested in securing the striker for the future.
