Real Madrid, who were just named Spanish champions, breezed past Granada with goals from Arda Guler, Fran Garcia, and Brahim Diaz, who scored twice.
The youthful full-back Garcia scored the game’s first goal for the club after 40 minutes, after a lacklustre first half. He did it by pounced on a low cross at the back post.
On this occasion, Garcia took the role of provider, sending a cross back to the penalty area that the Turkey international expertly poked into the bottom corner.
In the 40th minute of the match, Diaz scored the third goal by running upfield after collecting a loose ball around the midway mark and shooting from the edge of the penalty area.
His second goal came nine minutes later, after a brilliant passing move that he finished low after setting up his teammate.
In the last ten minutes of play, both sides had numerous scoring opportunities, but they were unable to convert.
With Mallorca’s 1-0 home victory over Las Palmas in the midday kickoff, Granada’s relegation to the second tier was sealed.
After this win, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is now 29 games undefeated in league play, breaking the previous record of 28 matches achieved in a single campaign in 1989–90 by John Toshack.
