Imanol Alguacil, manager of Real Sociedad, has stated categorically that Martin Zubimendi will be returning for the upcoming season.
Zubimendi, who has been outstanding in La Liga recently, was a major target of Arsenal’s transfer rumors during the previous summer transfer window as the Gunners sought to bolster their roster.
The decision to not spend the £53 million needed to bring Zubimendi to the Premier League was ultimately made by ARSENAL FC, who decided to pursue other players instead.
Nevertheless, they have persisted in monitoring the young man. A recent AS report states that doubts regarding his future with the Spanish club have surfaced, and his representatives are now willing to consider other options for him.
Nevertheless, according to Alguacil, Martin Zubimendi wants to remain at Real Sociedad and will definitely be a part of the team next season. That being said, Zubimendi will not be leaving the club. Without a shadow of a doubt, he will be joining us.
“They are just rumours. I am happy at Real Sociedad, it is like my home,” Zubimendi told the Spanish newspaper Marca last month when asked about his future beyond Real Sociedad.
It would be foolish of me to claim that Real Sociedad is where my career will end; who knows, maybe the club doesn’t want me to stay. However, I am unconcerned about these rumors.
The scouts from ARSENAL clearly saw something special in Zubimendi after he had a stellar run for Sociedad in recent seasons.
A few months from now, Arsenal will formally speak with his agency, and we are confident that he will be unable to refuse a transfer to the Emirates.
