The media has reported today that Liverpool have reportedly held talks to sign Raphinha from Barcelona.
In recent seasons, Mo Salah has shown himself to be one of Liverpool’s top finishers and a top performer in the Premier League.
Even though he has scored 24 goals for LIVERPOOL so far this season, he doesn’t appear to be the same player that battled for the golden boot and led the Reds to titles year after year.
As a result, there has been much media speculation over the past few months regarding his future beyond this season at Liverpool. Some have speculated that he may make a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, a move he expressed interest in last summer.
The Dutchman will need a successor for the Egyptian star immediately after Arne Slot’s arrival in a few weeks, and rumors have it that the club is keen on signing Raphinha.
An exclusive report from TBR Football states that the Reds have been approached about potentially signing the Brazilian international and have already begun contract negotiations.
Raphinha has performed adequately since moving to the Camp Nou, but he has failed to live up to his Premier League performance. As a result, the Spanish club is prepared to allow a number of first team players leave in order to make room for new acquisitions.
You can understand why they are once again in the news: LIVERPOOL had their eye on Raphinha before he signed with Barcelona, and they have been incessantly connected to him ever since.
It would be devastating for the team to lose Salah, but he is leaving for sure, and the Reds need to find a replacement quickly. Raphinha would be a great fit in that role.
But he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, and he isn’t really into the new Liverpool challenge, so the Reds wouldn’t get to witness the best of the Brazilian, and he would have trouble adjusting to Premier League play.
